The short letter of 1 John contains a huge message. Each chapter moves around three overarching themes: God is light, God is love, and God is life. Knowing God directly impacts who we are and how we live.
1 John was written with 4 purposes: (1) To increase our joy, (2) to prevent us from sinning, (3) to protect us from false teachers and their teachings, and (4) to assure us that we have eternal life. We are confident that as we read, study, and apply this book together, we will see these 4 purposes become a real part of our lives.
